Put Them On Game | Knowledge Sharing

INTRODUCTION

Wassup! Are you hype for the success of those around you? Like giving someone a boost, helping them level up or giving them a chance to shine. Basically, like sharing opportunities, knowledge, or resources to help others succeed. Whether it's by giving them a job, introducing them to new connections, or just offering support, it’s about lifting others up and helping them make the most of their potential. This blog post highlights the importance of this gesture through knowledge sharing.

This would be food for thought as you continue:

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PUT SOMEONE ON?

Well, it goes something like this: Bandile sent a link of a post on Instagram to a friend " Beginners Guide to C#" with a caption attached to it that says " This might help you on your path as a developer " Erika gave advice to a friend on how to build an empire in 20 days , details about the wins and losses of building it. Tayieb gave a friend money to help start up a business which the friend feels will be successful.

Noah has a connection of mangers in different retail stores in which he creates oppurtunities for unemployed youth in his area. In essence "Putting someone on" means to share valuable knowledge, resources, or opportunities with others, often through recommendations or by making connections.

In terms of knowledge sharing, it can be as simple as telling someone about a useful website, a job opening, or giving them a tip that helps them succeed. On social media, this happens a lot when people share posts, tag friends in helpful content, or recommend accounts to follow. If the information is genuinely useful, it can spread quickly because others will share it too, almost like creating a chain of knowledge sharing that feels automatic.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Knowledge is Power When Used Correctly

Sharing information, like Bandile did with his coding guide, gives people the tools to improve themselves. When you put someone on by sharing valuable knowledge, you’re giving them access to opportunities they might not have found alone. Whether it's a new skill or a helpful resource, knowledge empowers people to take control of their growth and future.

Strength in Connections

Noah’s story of connecting unemployed youth to job opportunities shows how powerful networking can be. When you connect someone to the right person or opportunity, you’re expanding their horizons. Building relationships through these connections creates a web of support that can provide opportunities, mentorship, and growth for everyone involved. Confidence is Contagious

Tayieb’s investment in his friend’s business shows that belief in someone can go a long way. Offering financial or emotional support boosts confidence and drives people to succeed. By putting someone on, you’re validating their potential and giving them the confidence to push forward, knowing that someone believes in their ability to do the most.

Learning from Other's Experiences

Erika’s detailed advice on the wins and losses of building an empire is a prime example of why sharing personal experiences matters. By offering your own insights, you’re giving others a shortcut to success. They can learn from your mistakes and replicate your successes, speeding up their progress and making smarter decisions along the way.

Building a Culture of Giving Back

When you help someone, like all these stories show, it’s not just about a one-off favor, it’s about creating a cycle of giving. Putting someone on creates a culture where success isn’t limited to just one person but shared among many. As people pay it forward, communities grow stronger, and more people are lifted up, creating a ripple effect of opportunity and support.

ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN PUTTING OTHERS ON

Explain:

Social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok provide instant access to a global audience and has become a powerful tool for sharing knowledge, opportunities and resources. It allows people to reach a wider audience almost instantly, making it easier than ever to "put someone on" in ways that were once impossible. Here’s how you could use social media to put others on: Boost Someone’s Visibility

Social media makes it easy to shine a spotlight on someone’s talent or project. Share their work, tag them in posts, or mention them in comments. This simple boost can help them reach a bigger audience, gain new followers, or even land job offers they wouldn't get otherwise.

Connect with People Who Inspire You

Want to learn from experts? Follow people who are leaders in your field on platforms like LinkedIn or Twitter. Reach out to them, ask for advice, or just follow their content. These connections can give you (or someone you know) access to valuable knowledge and opportunities.

Spread Good Ideas Fast

Social media lets good information spread quickly (sometimes, just my 2cents). If you find a helpful guide, video, or tip, share it! It could go viral, helping not just one person, but hundreds or even thousands of people who need that information. Who knows.. your next blowup might be a post of your work away!

Hashtags Make Things Easy to Find

Using the right hashtags (like #Jobs or #LearnCoding) can help people find useful resources fast. You can use hashtags to make sure the right people see the opportunities you’re sharing, and others can discover them by simply searching.

Build a Supportive Online Community

Join or create online groups where people share advice, tips, and opportunities. By being part of these spaces, you can keep putting people on by sharing things that help them grow, while also learning from others. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

Inspire Change and Help Eachother Win

Social media can start movements! Share stories and resources that inspire positive change or highlight voices that need to be heard. By doing this, you’re not just helping one person—you’re creating a culture where more people lift each other up.

Conclusion

So, take a moment to think about how you can use your platform to lift others up. Whether it’s sharing a helpful guide, connecting someone with a valuable contact, or simply spreading positive stories, every action counts. By putting others on, you’re not only helping them but also contributing to a culture of generosity and support.

Let’s make a commitment to be that person who helps others shine. Remember, when we all play a part in lifting each other up, we create a world where everyone has the chance to succeed. Keep sharing, keep connecting, and keep making a difference.
